- To find out the modulus of rigidity of the solid circular shaft.
- Yield point at shear.
- Modulus of rupture.
NOTE:
TO CARRY ON THE EXPERIMENT, LabVIEW RUNTIME ENGINE IS REQUIRE. DOWNLOAD
IT FROM HERE and install.
PROCEDURE:
1. Double click on the "Torsion_RTCivil_NITK"_ (Here the NAME of the file will be given)
2. A window will open as shown below:
3. Click on "EXPERIMENT START/STOP" button to start the experiment and on the motor.
4. A live streaming view of the test specimen can be seen on the left window as highlighted on the figure.
5. A graph "Torque vs Twist Angle" will be plotted as the experiment is started as shown below.
6. The corresponding incremental values of the Torque in 'Nm' and Twist Angle in 'degrees' will be displayed in the corresponding boxes.
7. The breakage of your workpiece indicates the end of your experiment.
8. Then you will have to stop the motor by clicking on "EXPERIMENT STOP" button.
9. Click on "SAVE DATA" to save the graphical values of the twist angle and the corresponding torque values.
A window will appear showing where to save the file.
10. Save the data in the notepad format and click on "EXIT" button to stop the program and close.
